Chantelise: A Tale of Two Sisters video review

item shops!

On September 10, 2010 developer EasyGameStation released Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale, which was quickly lauded as one of the most inventive and unique games of 2010. Fast forward to 2011 and the indie developer has released their newest creation, Chantelise: A Tale of Two Sisters. With one of the highest rated sleeper hits of last year on their resume, did the developers at EasyGameStation once again push the envelope? Or were they content to simply rest on their laurels? You’ll have to watch our Armless Octopus video review to find the answer.

Chantelise: A Tale of Two Sisters was provided for review by Carpe Fulgur LLC and is available for $9.99 on Steam and Gamersgate

Pretty jealous that I wasn’t the first to do a video review. Got to get the golden pipes workin.

Thanks for this review, been seeing it pop up on Steam lately, and as a sucker for the anime look, have thought about purchasing it, though its description made me unsure whether I would like it or not, so have been waiting for exactly this type of review.
Looks like I will have to check out their first game instead though.

You are very welcome. Thanks for watching.

Yeah, the game is not very good and that makes me sad. I REALLY wanted to like it but a developer’s past work will not get them a free pass in any review I ever do. I guess technically Chantelise was made before Recettear, but that is still not going to get them any leeway. I gotta look out for the consumer first.

I think it makes a lot of sense that Chantelise was actually made first. Knowing that, if anything, it’d give more props to Racettear for doing right by it and improving on the concept.
